Apply now for our very first in-house art workshop all about TEXTILES!

Are you interested in art and looking to discover or expand your creative side? Then this is your chance! To mark the 25th anniversary of a&o Hostels, we’re inviting 25 employees from across Europe to join a very special art workshop at the a&o Kunsthalle in Leipzig.

Over the course of four days, you’ll immerse yourself in a hands-on creative experience together with fellow colleagues – guided by artist and designer Anna Zeitler. If your artistic practice comes from a different discipline, bring it along and reinterpret it – no limits here!

What to expect:

• Inspiring museum and gallery visits
• Exchange with colleagues from across Europe
• Artistic experiments with recycled textiles and more
• The opportunity to present your work publicly
• A high-profile jury for exciting networking potential

What’s the workshop about?
At the heart of the workshop lies the question: What textile can do?
You’ll explore textile techniques, develop your own ideas – individually or in teams – and bring them to life within the spacious a&o Kunsthalle Leipzig. The space itself becomes part of the process: we’ll work in, with, and for the room.

The workshop will conclude with a public exhibition of the resulting works. A jury will select three pieces that will be featured in the redesign of a&o’s lobby spaces.

Thursday, July 31
9:00 AM–1:30 PM: Workshop (incl. coffee break)
3:30 PM: Visit to Spinnerei Leipzig
(Note: Our marketing team will be on-site this day for photo and video material.)

Friday, August 1
9:00 AM–1:30 PM: Final workshop session
2:30–3:30 PM: Final presentation & awards ceremony
Afterwards: Individual departure

• Curiosity and the desire to explore your creativity
• A few old garments or fabrics to recycle
• Any ideas you already have – feel free to bring them!
• Your own previous artworks? Absolutely – if you’d like to take them further
