Artist Statement
My painting style features powerful lines and gestural immediacy, exploring the physicality of oil paint through layering and ablation. In my artistic practice, I delve into interpersonal relationships and the diverse impact of colors. Inspired by memories, imagined scenarios, and everyday observations, my work often includes group and individual portraits, capturing moments in public and private spaces. I aim to convey the physical presence and non-verbal interactions of figures, often employing skewed perspectives for immediacy. Themes of vulnerability, connection, alienation, queer sexuality, and identity pervade my work.
